The International Affair Hunt September 1 - 30
The International Affair hunt begins September 1st.  For this hunt, each designer chose a country.   I chose Ukraine, and my prize is inspired by a favorite souvenir from my visit to Ukraine many years ago, Matrioschka - Nesting Dolls, with a Fire GOOD!!! twist of Course.

I like the theme for this hunt, also Mikayla Ares did a great job organizing it - for each shop, in addition to the prize, when you find the hunt object you also can collect stamps from each of the stores.  Here's an example of mine:

Find the postage stamp in the Fire GOOD!!! main store for this fun little nesting doll that launches a variety of colorful, flaming nesting dolls in mouse view.

The Mad Mushroom Hunt September 1 - 30
Another find hunt from the folks at Mad Pea Productions.  This hunt is special - 100 locations, 100 mushrooms, 100 prizes and 100L$ for everyone to complete the hunt!

I made something extra silly for this hunt.
Find the squishy mad mushroom in the Fire GOOD!!! main store for this prize.  Hint: eek nerdy spiders!

Wear these mad mouth mushrooms and do silly things with chat commands.  This is especially fun in a group. Everyone within chat range who wears the mouth mushrooms will do silly stuff when you say the magic words...

PT, especially sensitive to the suggestions of evil rabbits had a super strange dream.

We decided to munch on some mad mouth mushrooms... and suddenly lost gravity.

Strangely we all started dancing...

Then we died...

Then we poofed!

I Scream You Scream We all Launch Our Ice Cream!

Ice Cream is so YUM! Fortunately in SL we don't pile on calories when we enjoy ice cream.  With this Launcher, you can totally enjoy ice cream calorie FREE and share it with your friends!  This tray of yummy ice cream cones turns into a rapid ice cream distribution system in mouse view.

Good things can happen in Second Life

Today,  I just wanted to share something GOOD that happened in Second Life recently.

Earlier this summer, as I mentioned in my June 30th post, the Operation Squeegee event was held in July.  From a casual plurk observation, to discussion, to idea, to full blown charity event, this initiative unfolded in such an amazing way.  Whenever I reflect on this experience I am so proud of how quickly and the vision was clarified, and all of the volunteers came together along with all of the generous donations making this charity event such a wild success.  

The leadership, follow through, and transparency of the catalyst and founder for the event, Further Monday, was commendable.  Not only did she set up a separate account for isolating the charitable transactions, but she continued to update the group and blog on the handling of financial aspects of the donation to the National Wildlife Federation.  We were excited to see the amount that the charity event raised in Second Life just over 1 million twenty thousand lindens, translating into USD 3,700 donated to the charity.

Last night, Further Monday, "plurked" this photo of the letter of receipt from the National Wildlife Federation. I was so proud to see this and so happy to see how the funds are intended to be applied to the cause.

Congratulations and Thank You to all of the volunteers and donors who came together to make this event such a success.

Thanks Further for stepping up to inspire us all to do something rather than just sit around and complain about things we can't control.  What a refreshing experience.  Good things can happen in Second Life.

A little toast for Beatnik Ghost

Today I had to make a launcher, it was bugging me all day, this image in my head...of

I must give credit to Beatnik Ghost - my plurky friend for this idea.   Here's the inspirational plurk.

So i read this and my first thought was, "IS the toast still on fire???? and you are plurking???" but apparently she had it under control.

Sometimes serving toast isn't as easy as you may think.

Are pianos aerodynamic?

I tried to learn how to play piano a while back... I never progressed beyond the kindergarten book, my most accomplished song is "Old Woman" hahaha.   I am gonna stick to launching these things.

Pianos are probably not aerodynamic but that doesn't matter in Second Life.  You can still launch pianos as good as anything.  There is nothing as satisfying as watching a baby grand piano fly across your sim.

Try it for your self and see just how satisfying it is to launch these awesome piano projectiles!

The Launcher of DOOM and some other stuff

Fire GOOD!!! is participating in a new hunt - the Hollywood Walk of Fame Hunt August 14th - 29th.  In this hunt we were challenged to design a prize inspired by a star that we selected from the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  I chose Harrison Ford.  The prize is a fun toy inspired by a few of my favorite Harrison Ford movies, the Indiana Jones series.

If Life gives you Lemons...LAUNCH THEM!!!

Life gave me lemons this weekend.  I have a cold and it sucks.   The good thing about lemons is vitamin C.  The good thing about lemons in SL is - they are incredibly "launchable."

So...when life gives you lemons - launch them!
